Conclave Theme Submission
A theme for Conclave is important in order to provide Arrowmen with a meaningful message that is to be taken from Conclave. The theme will encompass every aspect of Conclave including shows, trainings, activities and special events.
For this year’s theme, we would like to tie in the Centennial Celebration somehow. It will be a spectacular conclave commemorating the 100th anniversary of the OA. Tie in the 100th anniversary with theme proposals without using the NOAC theme of Centuries of Service. YOU can submit a 'theme' to be voted on at the 2015 Fall Council of Chiefs! Fall Council of Chiefs Meeting – “Everyday Leadership. Everyday Service.”
The Fall Council of Chiefs meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Chicago – Palatine (1550 Dundee Rd, Palatine, IL) on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014. Arrival & Departure Time: The Council of Chiefs starts promptly at 10:00 am. Please arrive between 9:40 and 9:55 am. The meeting, including the service project, will end around 3:00 pm. PURPOSE: First and foremost, to facilitate inter-lodge communication and reporting, to update lodges on new National Order of the Arrow programs, overview this year’s conclave organization and timeline, as well as provide exclusive training opportunities designed to foster lodge success. This meeting is open to all Arrowmen who would like to attend and will be most beneficial for lodge and chapter officers.
THEME: “Everyday Leadership. Everyday Service.” – Arrowmen will explore different aspects of service in the context of the Order of the Arrow. As part of the Council of Chiefs gathering, participants will be able to participate in a Section C-7 service project in collaboration with the Palatine Opportunity Center.
FEE: $10 – This expense covers the cost of the meeting location, meeting materials, and lunch. In order to arrange for enough food for the meeting, register no later than Sun., Sept. 21, 2014.

Fall Fellowship weekend is an opportunity for both newly selected and current members of the Order of the Arrow to conduct service at our camp, share in fellowship, and learn more about what it is to be an Arrowman. It is an opportunity for Arrowmen to gather together and celebrate the past year in the lodge, learn more about how you can serve Scouting and the Order of the Arrow, have some fun, and elect new Lodge and Chapter Officers for next year.

NEWLY ELECTED ORDEAL CANDIDATES: This is an excellent opportunity to complete your ordeal and join our Lodge.
ORDEAL MEMBERS: After you have been a member of the Order of the Arrow for at least 10 months, you may seal your membership in the OA by doing your Brotherhood Conversion at this fellowship. (NOTE: Members who did their Ordeal in 2013, the Brotherhood Conversion Fee was included in your Ordeal Fee and was paid when the Ordeal was done.)

OA Lodge Leadership Development
At Training Academy on November 8, 2014 - East Aurora High School, 500 Tomcat Lane, Aurora, IL 60505
OA Lodge Leadership Development (LLD) Training (8am to 4pm) - Flier with Info This five session course is for OA training for both youth & adult Lodge leaders. LLD (Lodge Leadership Development) is a required class for all Lodge and Chapter officers and their advisers but it is open & encouraged for all OA members to take. The session will consist of topics that we need to discuss to help our lodge run better, such as communication, elections, events, etc. Registration includes patch & lunch & training materials. Please wear your OA uniform & sash.
Brotherhood Conversion at Training Academy (Ceremony assembly is at 1:30pm) Youth & Adult members who did their Ordeal in 2013 or before, may seal their membership in the Order of the Arrow by becoming Brotherhood members. The Brotherhood Conversion Fee was included in your 2013 Ordeal Fee and was paid when the Ordeal was done, so there is no cost to 2013 ORDEAL MEMBERS become a Brotherhood Member. If you did your Ordeal BEFORE 2013, then there is a $20 fee for the sash, etc., payable onsite at the Brotherhood Ceremony. Please pre-register for your Brotherhood by using the OA/LLD Registration above so that we have enough sashes and materials on hand. Youth & Adult members who wish to attend this ceremony & are not attending Training Academy should check in at the registration area to pick up a wrist band & room location for the ceremony. (No fee or registration needed for non-Training Academy Guests. We just have to have you pick up a wristband if you are in the School.) Ceremony assembly is at 1:30pm and will start shortly thereafter.
2015 is the 100th anniversary of the Order of the Arrow. The 2015 NOAC (National Order of the Arrow Conference) will be held at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI from August 3-8, 2015. Michigan State University has hosted the 2006 and 2012 NOACs. 2015 promises to be the biggest and best NOAC ever. Will you be there? MORE INFO about NOAC 2015
To All Order of the Arrow Committee Members, E-Board Members, Adult Advisers, and Chapter Chiefs:
Thursday, August 21, 2014 (every 3rd Thursday of the month UNLESS otherwise noted), there is an Order of the Arrow E-Board Meeting at Bethany Lutheran Church, (8 S. Lincoln St., Batavia, IL). The meeting starts at 7:30pm. All OA Committee Members are encouraged to attend, (in uniform and with your OA sash).
Committee Chairs should prepare a BRIEF report of what their committee has been doing since the last E-Board meeting, (preparing for fellowship, conclave, etc…, number of members on the committee, and plans for the next month). If you are not sure what you need to do, please work with your Adult Adviser. If you cannot make the meeting, please work with your Adult Adviser to get a report to the meeting through either them or your designee.
